Film Festivals and Calls for Entry

Please let everyone know of any upcoming Film Festivals, Art Exhibitions and Calls for Entry or Submissions.

If we don't help one another, WHO WILL?

Urbanworld/VIBE
Film Festival

June 21st – 24th 2007

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: APR 30th 2007

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

- The director of the film must consider himself/herself of African, Latino or Asian descent. If the director is none of the above,

the film must feature cast members of African, Latino, or Asian descent in prominent roles or have a screenwriter of African,

Latino or Asian descent.

- Works must be completed on 16mm film, 35mm film or digital video and be no more than 30 minutes in length.

- Festival screenings will only be shown on 35mm or Beta SP. (If your 16mm film or digital video is accepted into the festival, the

film must be transferred to Beta SP to be screened during the festival).

- Film must have a composite optical sound.

- Films in competition may not have had a commercial distribution or broadcast in the United States. The Festival reserves the

right to waive this rule in the case of small non-commercial, non-publicized showings.

- Film must have been completed after January 1, 2006.

- Works in progress may be submitted as long as a print (35mm or Beta SP) will be available for screening during the Festival.

- All entries must be postmarked by April 30, 2007.

- The “Best of the Festival” shorts entries will be considered for airing on the Vibe VOD channel distributed by Comcast Cable.

The shorts that air will be at the sole discretion of Vibe and Urbanworld. Please advise on this form if you’d like to be

considered and receive further information on this promotional opportunity.

ENTERING PROCEDURE:

- All works must be submitted on DVD format only. DVDs will not be returned.

- Entry must include a completed and signed application. Keep a copy of your completed application form for reference.

- Film title and contact information of entrant must be on all materials and containers.

- For confirmation that we received your entry, please include a self-addressed stamped postcard.

- There is no limit to the number of entries per entrant, provided separate applications and the $40 submission fee accompanies

each entry.

- DVDs and publicity materials will not be returned. Please keep publicity materials to a minimum.

- The Festival is not responsible for DVDs lost or damaged in transit.

- All applicants will be notified of the Festival's decision by May 15, 2007.

ENTRY FEE:

- Send a check or money order, in U.S. funds only, payable to the Urbanworld Film Festival in the non-refundable amount of $40.
